Network Engineer Hub exists to share the knowledge I've gathered building networks — and to help people interested in network technologies grow, with practical tools that make an engineer's work easier. I'm also still learning a lot along the way, staying informed about a field being reshaped by the rise of AI. Don't hesitate to send me any wishes or requests directly by email.
02My story
My path into technology began when I arrived in Munich, newly landed from France and looking for work. My first opportunity was in IT — and it was a revelation. I discovered that a network is really a logical construct, built from a lot of standardized protocols that all fit together, and the idea of learning to build with them became a motivation that has never left me. There was always more to learn, and that curiosity is what kept me coming back every day.
That first role kept me close to the wire — running networks and securing fair deals with internet and telephony providers on behalf of our customers. It was a great way to work across a rich variety of solutions — Windows Server, SQL databases, WLAN, telephony servers — and to support all of them on-site, right next to the customer.
From there I moved into a large enterprise environment, wanting to specialize in network technologies, and got to know enterprise networks at real scale: production floors, office sites, the network core, and on-premise datacenters. Seeing how those layers fit together is where network & security engineering became the craft I wanted to master.
Today my strengths are Fortinet security — and automating it across very different environments, whether on-premise, in Azure, or in AWS. I tie the pieces together with Python, Terraform, the REST API, and GitHub Actions: a pipeline where an Actions workflow runs Terraform and supporting scripts to roll out an entire environment automatically.
A build I'm especially proud of was a large hub-and-spoke topology in AWS, where we built the complete security hub environment — regionally scalable across sites and countries, on GitHub Actions, Terraform, FortiGate, FortiManager, Python, and Lambda. Delivering that kind of infrastructure as code — big, real, and reproducible — is exactly the work I love.
That's what drives me. I'm an automation-first engineer at heart: if something's worth doing twice, it's worth turning into code. Turning complex, multi-site networks into something secure, automated, and repeatable — and sharing what I learn along the way — is the work I want to keep doing.
