01Who we are

This site is operated by the individual behind NETWORK ENGINEER HUB, acting as the data controller for the limited processing described below. For any privacy question or request, contact us at contact@networkengineerhub.com.

02Information we collect

Information you choose to give us.

  • Contact email. If you email us (for example via the address above), we receive your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use it only to reply.
  • Newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address is sent to our email provider, Brevo (Sendinblue), which stores it to deliver the newsletter. We use double opt-in: you must click a confirmation link before you are added, so we never add an address without proof of consent. We use your email solely to send the newsletter, and every message includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Our newsletter uses no open- or click-tracking — there are no tracking pixels, and links are not rewritten to monitor whether you open messages or which links you click.

Information collected automatically.

  • Server / access logs. Like any website, our hosting and CDN provider (Cloudflare) processes technical request data — such as your IP address, browser user-agent, referring page, and timestamps — to serve pages, keep the site secure, and prevent abuse.
  • "What Is My IP?" tool. When you open this tool it shows you your own public IP and related technical details (approximate IP-based location, network/ASN, connection info). This is looked up first-party on our own Cloudflare Worker — your IP is not sent to any third-party "what-is-my-IP" service. The result is shown to you and not stored by us; the optional reverse-DNS (PTR) lookup is resolved via Cloudflare's public DNS resolver.

Third-party content.

  • Web fonts. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com). When your browser fetches them, your IP address is necessarily shared with Google to deliver the files.
  • Advertising (Google AdSense) — only with your consent. If you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner, your browser loads Google AdSense. Google may then set advertising cookies and process data such as your IP address, browser/device information, and pages viewed to serve and measure ads. If you choose "Necessary only", no AdSense code loads. For visitors in the EEA/UK we use Google's certified consent management (Privacy & messaging) to collect this consent; outside those regions ads may load without a banner. See our Cookie Policy and Google's advertising policies.

What we do not collect.

  • The in-browser tools (subnet, CIDR, MTU, JSON, YAML, config generator) process everything locally. Anything you type into them is never sent to us or any server. (The "What Is My IP?" tool is the one exception — it asks our own server for your IP, as described above — and still involves no third party.)
  • No profiling or third-party analytics trackers run on this site. Advertising runs only through Google AdSense, and only after you choose "Accept all".
  • Consent-requiring trackers. Google AdSense advertising cookies require consent under the EU ePrivacy rules / French Article 82 (CNIL); we load them only after "Accept all". Otherwise the only consent we rely on is your double opt-in to the newsletter.

03Cookies

By default the site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Our hosting/security provider may set strictly-necessary cookies to protect the site (for example, bot-mitigation). If you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner, Google AdSense advertising cookies are additionally set to display ads; choosing "Necessary only" keeps them off. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.

04Why we use your data (and legal bases)

We process the limited data above to:

  • operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website;
  • respond to messages you send us;
  • (once launched) deliver the newsletter you asked for.

For visitors in the EEA/UK, our legal bases under the GDPR are: legitimate interests (running and securing the site, replying to your enquiry) and consent (the newsletter), which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.

05Sharing & third parties

We do not sell or rent your personal data. It is only processed by the service providers that make the site work — our hosting/CDN provider (Cloudflare), the web-font provider (Google) described above, — if you consent to ads — Google AdSense (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC) which receives ad-serving data as described above, and — if you subscribe — our email provider Brevo (Sendinblue, an EU-based company) which stores your address to deliver the newsletter — each acting under their own terms and privacy policies. We may disclose information if required by law.

06International transfers

Because providers such as Cloudflare and Google operate globally, technical data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards (for example, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) offered by those providers.

07How long we keep data

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected: emails you send us for as long as needed to handle your request, and newsletter data until you unsubscribe. Provider-side server logs are retained according to that provider's own retention schedule.

08Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email contact@networkengineerhub.com. If you are in the EEA/UK and believe we have mishandled your data, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

09Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because we collect so little and the tools run client-side, the personal data we hold is minimal by design — the strongest privacy protection is data we never collect in the first place.

10Children

This site is intended for IT and security professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves (for example, when the newsletter goes live). The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version; material changes will be highlighted on this page.
