Cookie Policy — NETWORK ENGINEER HUB

This policy explains how NETWORK ENGINEER HUB uses cookies and similar browser storage. The short version: by default the site sets no advertising cookies — the only thing we store is your consent choice, kept in your browser. If you choose “Accept all”, we additionally load Google AdSense, which sets advertising cookies to display ads. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy.

01What cookies (and local storage) are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store; it is sent back to that site's server on future requests. Local storage is a related mechanism that also keeps small data in your browser, but — unlike a cookie — it is never automatically sent to any server. Both are per-website and can be cleared at any time from your browser.

02What this site actually uses

Consent choice (local storage). When you answer the cookie banner, we save your choice under the key neh-cookie-consent in your browser's local storage, so we don't ask again on every visit. It stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
Advertising (Google AdSense) — only after "Accept all". If you consent, we load Google AdSense to show ads. Google then sets advertising cookies and processes data to serve and measure ads. Nothing is loaded and no ad cookies are set unless you choose "Accept all". We run no other third-party analytics or profiling trackers.
Tool data stays local. Everything you type into the in-browser tools is processed in your browser and is never stored server-side.

03Cookie categories

Strictly necessary. Cookies required to serve and secure the site. Our hosting/CDN provider (Cloudflare) may set these — for example a short-lived bot-mitigation token — to protect the site from abuse. These do not require consent and cannot be switched off while keeping the site functional.
Optional (advertising). Google AdSense advertising cookies, set by Google to display and measure ads. These load only after you choose "Accept all"; choosing "Necessary only" keeps them off.

04The consent banner

On your first visit a banner offers two equally-weighted choices:

Accept all — allows optional cookies; this loads Google AdSense and its advertising cookies.
Necessary only — declines all non-essential cookies; no ads are loaded.

You can change your decision at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer, which reopens the banner. Strictly-necessary cookies are not affected by this choice, because the site cannot run without them.

EEA/UK visitors — Google's consent message. Where we enable Google's certified consent management (Privacy & messaging), visitors in the EEA and UK are shown Google's own advertising consent message instead of the banner above, and can change that choice from the same Cookie settings link. Outside those regions, ads may load without a banner.

05Third parties

Pages load fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com). Google does not set cookies through this, but your IP address is shared with Google to deliver the font files, as noted in our Privacy Policy. Cloudflare (hosting/CDN) may set the strictly-necessary security cookies described above. Our newsletter provider Brevo (Sendinblue) delivers the emails you subscribe to, and our newsletter uses no open- or click-tracking (no tracking pixels, and links are not rewritten to monitor clicks) — CNIL treats such email trackers like cookies, and we use none.

Google AdSense (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC) provides the ads. When you choose "Accept all", your browser loads Google's ad code, which may set advertising cookies and share data such as your IP address with Google to serve and measure ads. See Google's advertising and privacy policies. No AdSense code loads unless you consent.

The advertising cookies above require your consent under the EU ePrivacy rules / French Article 82 (CNIL); we set them only after "Accept all". Aside from those and your double opt-in to the newsletter, the site sets no consent-requiring trackers.

06Managing cookies in your browser

You are always in control. In any modern browser you can view, block, or delete cookies and clear site storage from the settings (often under "Privacy and security" → "Cookies and site data"), or from the developer tools under Application → Storage. Clearing this site's storage will also remove your saved consent choice, so the banner will appear again on your next visit. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
